MY STORY

It Was in My blood

I like to think my ancestors have been prodding my along my whole life to explore my artistic talents. On my father 's side I grew up with the knowledge that my great great great grandfather started the Philadelphia Museum of Art at the time of George Washington. Not only that, three of my four grandparents were active artists while I was just starting to draw stick figures. As a kid I distinctly remember getting the traditional praise a kid gets for their artwork, followed by a critique for how I could improve whatever I created. Prior to my grandparents passing on, I was gifted with paint brushes I still use to this day.

At age 14,  I sold my very first painting, from a portrait of a child I found in a  National Geographic Magazine.  My first work was mainly portraits, however since moving to the California Central Coast in 2016, I had to take on the natural beauty of my backyard. As best I can, I try to keep to the plein air style in my art, painting on site to capture light and color as the human eye sees it.

Occasionally my family and I venture outward in our 25' Airstream, which has allowed me some really exciting opportunities to get out there.
